My practice is devoted solely to family law. I deal with all aspects of family law, including separation agreements, child custody, child support, visitation rights, property division, alimony, domestic violence, adoption, guardianship. I handle cases in Howard County, Anne Arundel County, Baltimore County, Montgomery County, and Prince George's County.
I am able to pursue whatever approach will best resolve your problem. If we can settle the matter, I will pursue negotiation, mediation, and collaboration. I am a trained mediator myself and for years worked on the staff of the Maryland Bar Association's mediator training school. I worked as a mediator for the EEOC for several years and mediated over 50 cases. I am also prepared to pursue settlement through collaborative law, a relatively new approach to settlement that is resolving difficult issues that had previously required litigation.
I am also a veteran trial lawyer. I have litigated over 400 family law cases in the courts of Maryland. I have served as the chair of the American Bar Association's Family Law Litigation Committee and have edited the ABA's Family Law Litigation Newsletter. I have won the Star Award from the ABA's Section of Litigation.
Some lawyers are good at settling cases but fall apart in the courtroom. Other lawyers are good in the courtroom but are too overbearing and inflexible to settle cases short of trial. I firmly believe that a lawyer must be able to use whatever approach will produce the best result for you.
